What is the meaning of Meditation?

The mind is generally restless, and meditation teaches us to be peaceful. This requires perseverance, internal strength and seriousness. To gain results, you have to give, time, vitality, affectionate devotion, energy and love.

Simply, we can say that Meditation means watching thought. Why do thoughts come into our mind? What is the meaning or relevance of thoughts?

Today, very few of us know the exact meaning of meditation. Some say that it is the mental concentration on something like a mantra, or sensation of breath. Other people say that we completely fall into a state which gives us silence or happiness.

Meditation is a practice in which a person trains their mind to do the work with full concentration, without any disruption. Meditation plays a very important role in our daily life. If we can’t do meditation then whatever work we will do, it will not be up to the mark or according to our highest will.  Meditation teaches us to fully focus without internal or external interruption, and in this way, in daily life, we are able to live life in its fullest expression, without distraction from within or from without.

Practical Benefits of Meditation

Meditation makes physical and mental peace and strengthens the capacity to concentrate. It also sharpens the remembrance and the feeling. In most of the cases, with prolonged practice, it might lead to profound enlightenment. This depends on how much excited you are, the amount of vitality and time you dedicate to it, and on your situation of internal maturity.
