Making It Simple & Affordable
Heavy metals have become a part of everyday life. Because of this, they are commonly showing up in our bodies. It has become increasingly difficult to keep our bodies cleansed from these toxins because heavy metals are found in drinking water, as well as some foods, skin care products and medications. Heavy metals are also in many other substances that come into contact with the skin, and therefore, get carried into the body through the skin.
Our bodies are always trying to get rid of these heavy metal toxins. The way that it does this is through our organs of elimination. The liver sends the toxins to the small intestine where they should be eliminated. But many of these toxins actually get reabsorbed into the intestine while they are waiting to be eliminated.
The Effects of Heavy Metals on Your Health
Some of the most common and most dangerous heavy metals are: Mercury, Lead, Cadmium, and Aluminum. Common ways our bodies absorb these metals are from amalgam dental fillings, cigarette smoke, pigment in paint, aluminum cookware and drinking water. The diseases and disorders associated with heavy metal toxicity are quite numerous and include mental disorders and emotional problems, memory loss, chronic pain, autism, hyperactivity, gastrointestinal disorders, allergies, arthritis, fibromyalgia, autoimmune diseases, cardiovascular disorders, impotence, infertility, cancer, and the list goes on and on. While it’s important to avoid heavy metals as much as possible, the facts are clear that because of our environment today, some of our exposure is simply unavoidable.
Easy Ways to Detox
One way of protecting our bodies from the toxic effects of heavy metals is to do periodic heavy metal cleanses. It’s a simple step to prolong good health and quality of life. There are a few known natural foods and supplements that effectively cleanse heavy metals from the body. One of the best foods for detoxing from heavy metals is cilantro. It has been shown to move mercury, cadmium, lead, and aluminum in the body. It also removes mercury from the nucleus of the cell, which means that it could possibly reverse DNA damage that was done by the mercury. The only drawback to using cilantro is that it mobilizes more heavy metals than the body is capable of carrying out and the heavy metals are reabsorbed into the body. This problem can be solved by using chlorella along with the cilantro.
Chlorella is another food; a green algae, and can be found in supplement powder or pill. Most people prefer to take it in pill form because of the seaweed taste. Chlorella is a powerhouse as a detoxifier. It binds to, and absorbs toxins and safely carries them out of the body. Garlic is another food that helps to eliminate heavy metals from the body. Garlic’s sulphur oxidizes mercy, cadmium and lead and makes them water soluble and also has a mineral that protects the body from mercury toxicity, selenium. Raw garlic is best, but if you don’t like raw garlic, an aged garlic supplement works too. There are a few other natural supplements to help rid the body of heavy metal toxicity, but cilantro with chlorella seems to work the best. Add some garlic in there, and you’re well on your way to ridding your body of a heavy metal overload.
Another method of heavy metal detox is to do clay baths. Bentonite clay has been shown to remove heavy metals through the skin when used in hot baths. To do a clay bath, you need to add 2 cups of powdered bentonite clay to bath water that is as warm as you can stand, and submerse all exposed skin for 30 minutes to 2 hours. Before and after hair analysis have shown clay baths to be very successful in removing heavy metals from the body.
A Little Effort for a Whole Lot of Wellbeing
Our environment is loaded with pollution that we have no way to avoid, but doing an occasional heavy metal cleanse is definitely a way to improve your long term health. The foods and supplements for detoxing from heavy metals are easily accessible and simple to use and you have much to gain from the effort; better health, your mental clarity, and possibly the avoidance of some diseases that are quite common in our society today.
