Self-Awareness
Yoga strives to increase self-awareness on both a
physical and psychological level. The practitioner will learn to
feel every part of their body, externally and internally.

As you continue to develop your awareness you will find that
you will heal better and overcome any forms of infections
faster.
Self awareness is basically learning
to get to know yourself better.

Most people wouldn't have a clue who they are at
the best of times. They constantly rely on others to tell them things
and this can be summed up as being externally directed.
The great thing about yoga and building your level
of self awareness is that you become internal. Not on a selfish
level because that is a negative emotion and negativity is something
that the yoga practitioner declares as being no option!
Internal approval is basically respect for ones self.
When you respect yourself there is nothing you wouldn't do that
you would be deemed as being bad for you. This is a continuing practice
that develops with time. Life is trail and lesson, awareness is
an open-minded policy on life.
Awareness is built by learning which can really only
be done to it's fullest potential with open mindedness and enthusiasm.
Awareness is knowledge of one's self and of one's surroundings.
Practicing yoga can provide chronic pain sufferers
with useful tools to actively cope with their pain and help counter
feelings of helplessness and depression.
